5 months old

Baby boy is almost 5 months old! I was going to post some videos, but I didn't realize what a process that would be, so you'll have to wait a little bit for that. I'll need Brock's help, and he's been a little....sleepy this week.

Pierce is growing and learning so fast. He's already trying to get into everything! He wants to taste the world, and he wants so badly to be mobile. I noticed today that he was getting his knees up under his body. It's only a matter of time before he takes off! He's getting more stable in the sitting position too. He's not sitting on his own yet, but it's amazing how fast they progress once they start to get more strength. He loves to be on his tummy. He sleeps that way now. He'll pretty much always roll to his tummy when you put him on his back. He's capable of rolling back onto his back, but he rarely does because he prefers his tummy.

He smiles much more easily now. He's still not laughing much. Especially not for me. Apparently I'm pretty lame. He laughs for Brock more, and he's starting to get ticklish. He's way more vocal now. He squeals and screams when he's happy. He complains when he's not happy. It's hard to explain what his complaints sound like, but it's not pleasant. He's so easily distracted when he's nursing. If the tv's on, if there's music playing, or if anyone's talking, he'll keep turning around. Lately he'll turn around and start cooing.

We haven't started rice cereal yet. I'm planning on starting in a couple of weeks. I'm excited. He nurses about 6 times a day now, and he takes 3 or 4 naps a day. At night, he goes to sleep around 10 and wakes up between 6 and 7 usually.

He still loves his pacifier, watching tv, reading books, and bath time. He's definitely a morning person. He's starting to show a preference for who holds him (preferring us over anyone else). He doesn't like loud unfamiliar noises, being tired or hungry, or being cradled like a baby.

His neck is still doing great, and his head is still a little lopsided from having torticollis. W're meeting with a doctor in 2 weeks to see if it's something to worry about. He's still on medicine for thrush for one more week. Let's hope it works this time.

His eyes look like they're turning from blue to another color...maybe green? He's still super tall. He has some pretty fat thighs! He definitely carries his weight in his bottom half..lol. He takes after his mommy!

We have so much fun with him! I'm so glad that he's such a happy, calm, and laid back baby because it's just what Brock needed to transition to parenthood :). He's the cutest. Somtimes I feel bad saying that because all of you have cute babies too, but we just love love love him and we can't get over how dang stinking cute he is! We're so glad he came to live with us!

Here are some pictures from the last few weeks.

It was Tanner's bath time, so we put Pierce in with him.

Staring at himself in the mirror.

Little Chubs With the twins and their older brother. I wonder what's going through their heads. Alexis..."Um, excuse me, you're in my way." Pierce..."Mom, where are my pants?" Cute baby smiles. I love that face!

No offense, but I think my own kids are the cutest. hehe I think parents are just biased like that. I know what you mean though. They look like you and you've watched 'em grow from day one, so to you, they are the most beautiful babies on the planet!!

Pierce is, to be honest, very adorable. He has a sweet little face.

Such cute pictures. Hopefully the next size up diapers works for you to help out on the blowouts. That's rough. I've never heard of Piddle Pad before. I may have to look into that to help B with Potty training accidents. Thanks for the idea!
