It really is miraculous.

I don't know what kind of magical powers Pierce's new crib toy has, but it's working. It shines lights up at the ceiling and plays music and nature sounds. It even has a lady that sings lullabies. I don't really use that setting because it's kind of creepy to have some lady in a box singing Pierce to sleep. I guess it's no different than playing a CD with someone singing, but she just sounds weird. He loves to look at the lights at night. When I took him in his room last night for bed, he had the biggest smile on his face when he saw the light on the ceiling. I was trying to nurse him, and I had to turn it off because he kept stopping to look and see if it was still there. Since he's a little addicted to his pacifier, I've still had to go in sometimes and help him find it before he'll fall asleep, but I just stick it in his mouth and walk out of the room and he doesn't really cry at all. I'm amazed. I hope this is a permanant fix. Unfortunately we have to return the thing and get a different one because the straps don't fit on his crib. I hope we can find one that does fit. I've temporarily used shoe strings to attach it, but that's definitely not safe for a long term solution.
