Ferry, Shots, and Sleep Positions
A couple weeks ago, we went to Brock's annual work picnic. We hadn't ever been to this particular park before, so we put it into our GPS. As we were driving over in the pouring rain, I started to wonder about where we were going. I figured since we had our trusty GPS, I should just....you know...trust it. We got off the Interstate and drove down this windy little road. I knew the park was in Cincinnati, so we had to cross the river at some point, but I was anxious to see this bridge I was unaware of that was going to lead us to the other side. Well, my friends, there wasn't a bridge but there was the Anderson Ferry! Brock's immediate reaction was to think that I had done something wrong when I put the address in. No silly! The GPS was right on...that was definitely the shortest route from our house to the park. Who would have thought we'd ever have to turn on the setting that says no ferries! We turned it on and our arrival time readjusted making us due 15 minutes late. We decided, what the heck? We've never driven on a ferry on the Ohio River in the pouring rain. Actually, we had never been on one ever. So we paid the $4 and rode across. It was worth it for the experience but not as a legitimate route to places in the future.
Pierce got his 4 month shots 2 days ago. He did great! The nurse said they were the easiest shots she's ever given to a 4-month-old. He cried for a few seconds after she finished, but then he stopped before I even had a chance to pick him up. I thought he was going to feel fine when we got home too, but he had a couple hours or so of crankiness and then snapped out of it suddenly (with the help of some Tylenol) and has been fine ever since. Here's a picture of the 4-month-old sucking on his toes.
And here he is in his Hawaiian outfit from Grandpa and Grandma..
Now that I'm not swaddling Pierce anymore when he sleeps, I find him in many different positions. He loves to have his face smashed up against his stuffed animals. It usually knocks his pacifier out, so then he just sucks on the animals. I go in there after he falls asleep to move them away from his face, and they're usually wet from his drool. He also turns around and rolls over, and I love going in there after he falls asleep or when he wakes up to see what kind of position he's gotten himself into. Here he is cuddling with Bear and Tigger.
A couple days ago, I found him like this with Tigger covering his face...
I moved it so he could breathe and came back a few minutes later to this...
I turned him back over and straightened him out, and he cuddled up next to Tigger like this....

I love that your not paranoid about having stuff in his crib.
That's so cute! I loved going into Jackson's room in the morning to see where he ended up. He was usually on one end with his face smashed into the bumper. How do they do that though if they can't really crawl or do a whole lot of rolling? Mysterious....
That is awesome! Betsy is the exact same way!
I love the picture of him sucking his toes. He's so cute!
