He's growing like a little cute weed.

Pierce weighs 12 lbs 13 oz today. We met with a lactation consultant because we're still having some minor breastfeeding issues. He just has some poor eating techniques. He still gets enough to eat though (obviously) because my milk comes out so fast that he doesn't have to try very hard to get it. He also hardly ever relaxes when he's eating, and she said it's because of the fast flow. Sometimes he acts like he wants to keep eating but squirms around a lot when I try to keep feeding him. She said to just give him a pacifier when he does that because he probably just wants to suck on something but doesn't want to eat anymore. That's probably why he's been spitting up a lot too. She gave me some tips and told me some things to ask the pediatrician about at his next checkup. We're changing pediatricians, so hopefully the new one will be more informative than the ones we've been going to. They were nice, but I didn't feel like they were too helpful, and their nurses and receptionists weren't friendly at all. His 2 month checkup is June 1st.

It's crazy how hard and confusing breastfeeding can be. I knew it would be hard from the very beginnning, but I really didn't think it would still be confusing after 7 weeks. That has probably been the most surprising thing for me about having a baby. I thought we would have it down by now. I like talking to the lactation consultants because they're really supportive and knowledgeable. We have ups and downs, but I think things will continue to smooth out over time. Getting rid of the thrush has helped a lot too.

Breastfeeding was a challenge for us too. I am hoping that this go round with sissy will be easier.

It´s great that you´re still nursing him even though you´ve had trouble. It took me a while to figure out the paci thing with Sam. It seemed like he would throw everything up after I fed him, but he was just super full.

Ugh, breastfeeding is hard, huh?! I quit pretty fast with Audrey bc of problems but am hoping to stick it out longer with the next one. Hope you can find a pediatrician you like. I bet you are really frustrated!

I have the same problem with the milk coming out too fast. Brynlee's been having a harder time latching on lately. Sometimes she's fine and sometimes it takes a while. Which is pretty comical especially when my milk won't stop coming:). Hope you like your new pediatrician, we've got to go today for a rash (which I think is heat rash).

That's great that you're doing everything you can to continue breastfeeding, even with all the setbacks. I had a lactation consultant come over once and unfortunately, everything went perfect when she was there, but as soon as she left, the problems came back. And I was too afraid to call her to come back because it cost %75 every hour and I could tell it bothered Trapper.
Hopefully this time it will go better or Trapper's just gonna have to ignore the bill.
