We're going to have a baby any day now. I already feel like my blog is all about baby, and he's not even born yet. I just wanted to let everyone know that we do have other things going on. Maybe this will be my last non-baby post for a long time, so here is an update on our pre-parenthood lives. Yes, I do realize that in a post that's not supposed to be about our baby, I've already referenced him several times, but it ends now.
We officially have food storage. Brock has been pushing it for a long time, but my idea of food storage so far has been buying a little bit of extra food so I don't have to go grocery shopping as often. Thanks to Brock, we now have long term food storage. I think things will have to get pretty desperate to live off of beans, wheat, rice, and dry milk, but I guess anything could happen. We've also stocked up on 1/4 of a cow in different cuts of beef. We have roasts, steaks, ribs, stew meat, ground beef, and hamburger patties. Of course, this also called for the purchase of a chest freezer for our basement.

Brock managed to pretty much buff out that huge scratch he put on the back of the car. All that's left is a dent and a chip in the paint on the bumper. Remember this?

Now look at it!

Brock mowed, aerated, seeded, fertilized, and watered our lawn over the weekend. He's working really hard to avoid the weed infestation we had last spring. Remember these pictures? The first one was taken last March.

The 2nd was taken at the end of April last year, so we're still not out of the woods, but our lawn is looking much better so far. See the potential...

Brock is "training" for a marathon relay. He's running the first quarter of the marathon. At his job, they're doing this big "corporate athlete" program, and the marathon is part of it I guess. They spent a whole day last week in training about being healthy. That night he told me he had to bring work out clothes to work the next day because they were going to be working out for half the day. I don't know why, but I thought that was the funniest thing I've ever heard. I laughed so hard. I'm glad they care about his health.
Okay, so now I'm realizing that all of this stuff is about Brock. So really this is just a Brock update. Who am I kidding? I have nothing going on besides this cute baby in my belly.

k, I want Brock to come over and get my food storage organized for me and help me with my lawn, geez, he's Mr. get it done!!!
Lea
I'm glad you got some food storage at YOUR house because it would have been a long drive to Joe and Carmen's to eat theirs.
Stephen is on a food storage kick also! I don´t know how he fit all of the giant bags of rice in our closet, but he did!
And keep talking about that baby!
Britney, you are so funny! Unfortunately, you'll find it very hard from now on to ever talk about anything but that sweet little baby. I think Pierce should hold out until April 3 and then he and Audrey can share bdays.
PS- PLEASE send Brock our way- so jealous about the food storage! :)
So, I have an intnership right now with a construction company getting their employees in shape. It is really fun but challenging to spend so much time on something and only have half of them listen to half or do half of what I say. I think it is awesome that Brock is participating. I'm training for my thrid half-marathon. I don't know why I havn't trained for a full yet. It freaks me out a bit.
I'm so jealous that you have #1 a basement #2 and huge freezer! If I had that right now I would be going crazy on my food storage! haha
