The Gibsons

When we first got married, we lived next door to Matt and Kirsten Gibson and their cute baby Eden. They're probably the ones who most appreciated my recent post about our first apartment because they too experienced the pleasure of living in Dean Rentals. About a year before we moved to Texas, they moved to Michigan. We've kept up with them over the past few years (although I'm never really very good at keeping in touch with people), and they drove down to visit us for the weekend. We went to the zoo on Saturday. Yesterday, Brock had to work, but I went with them to the Museum of Natural History and Science. Eden is 4 now, and she's really outgoing. 4 and 5 years old are probably my favorite age because they say such hilarious things and they surprise me with how much they know and remember. Their son Sam is 2, and he's also outgoing and very talkative for a 2 year old. He has the cutest smile. Their baby Claire is 2 months old, and she's really cute too, but mostly sleeps and cries (of course). Brock thinks she doesn't like him. I think she just happened to cry a few of the times that he held her or got near her, but it wasn't every time. It was fun having them here and it was good practice for us with all the kids, although fortunately we won't have to jump right into having a 4 year old, 2 year old, and 2 month old. We're glad they were able to come visit, and we hope to see them more in the future.

Funny/disturbing story: We found out from Matt and Kirsten, that before we moved into our Provo apartment, a woman died in it. They never told us while we lived there because they were afraid it would freak us out, and yes, it would have. We can't believe that, and we (especially Brock) have been telling everyone about it since we found out. They didn't know how she died, but all they know is that she died and then we moved in. Fun stuff.

My money is on a suicide in the bathroom. I have convincing evidence to justify such a bold claim.

ew...that is straight up disturbing... ALSO that picture of brock gives me major 2002 flashbacks. I swear to you that brock j roark is the only person on the planet that pulls up the sleeves on his hoodie sweatshirt. I kid you not. NO one else does this on the planet. But don't go stressing about it cause it's not a bad thing...just uncommon... does my pointing this out offend you?!?

wow perfect timing to tell you right around Halloween time. Spooky! Glad they waited to tell you after you moved away. I would freak out. How old was this lady? And what evidence does Brock have of suicide in the bathroom. A noose hanging over the shower or what? Sick!

Brock looks like a natural with the kids. Just think---10 years from now, he'll have about 6 sitting on the park bench with him. (His own 6)
