Mattress

I thought of some more things to blog about. So now that we have extra bedrooms, we can have extra beds. For my birthday, my parents sent me money for a mattress. We decided to get a king size so in the future, if we get a new bedroom set, we can move to a king size instead of queen. We like the memory foam mattress we have from Costco, so we thought we'd get the exact same one. We ordered the mattress on costco.com. We went to the store last weekend to look around, and we saw what appeared to be the same mattress we ordered for about $110 less. We tried to figure out if it was the same thing, and it seemed like it was, so we bought the mattress and squeezed it into the back seat of our civic (it seems like we've been doing that a lot lately, 2 days ago it was a lawn mower). We still hadn't received the one we ordered online, so we put the new one in the garage to wait. When we got it, it still seemed like they were the same, so we took the store-bought one out and carried it upstairs. We unzipped it to look at the foam, and it wasn't the same quality as the other one we had. So last night we decided to return the cheaper one to Costco and keep the one we ordered online. The only problem was that it was fully expanded. We struggled to squeeze it downstairs and out the door. I thought I was going to die trying to pick it up to carry it over the ground outside, and Brock says his hands and fingers are extremely sore today. It wasn't really happening, but somehow we managed to get it to the car. We couldn't keep it squeezed tight enough and lift it up to the trunk, so we found something to tie around it to keep it squeezed. Even then it wouldn't fit in the trunk. So we backed the car out of the garage, and tried to squeeze it in the back seat, but nothing would work. Finally, we gave up and brought it back inside. Then we struggled to carry the new one upstairs and it looks great. I'm not sure what we're going to do about the other one. We're going to have to rent a truck or find someone who will let us borrow theirs. The bad thing is that Costco is like 45 minutes away. Dumb mattress.
