Pigeon Forge

We went down to Tennessee over the weekend for our 2nd annual Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge trip with our friends Dustin and Meredith and their baby Tanner. Last year we went over Memorial Day weekend. Meredith was 7 months pregnant, and I was completely childless of course. We knew it would be a different experience this year. It was still really fun, but much more exhausting and a little more stressful. The babies did considerably well on the trip. I think Pierce did better when we were out and about than he does sitting at home with me every day. I guess he just likes to see what's going on. Tanner did great too. He's getting better and better at walking, and he was a trooper even though he had a hard time taking his naps with so much going on. Unfortunately the floor in our condo was tile, and Tanner has a big fat bruise on his forehead to prove it. The hardest part for me of course was Pierce's feedings. I managed to feed him in public twice. I can't say that I ever intended on being a public breastfeeder, but you do what you gotta do when a baby's screaming at you and there's no where else to go. I also fed him in the car a lot. Thank goodness for the Pilot! Brock just loves giving Pierce tastes of different foods. He's given him licks of chocolate, ranch dressing, gravy, ice cream, pudding, and several others. The thing that Brock has been looking forward to is letting Pierce try a lemon. We gave him a taste before, but he didn't really react. We tried again over the weekend, and Brock got the reaction he was looking for. See the video below. The most annoying thing happened on the way home from our trip. It took us about 7 hours to get home. It should have been 4 or 5. The traffic leaving Pigeon Forge was insane! We were all about to go crazy in the car. We also ran into a few patches of traffic and storms all along the way. ANNOYING! All in all though, it was a good experience with fun memories!

haha Poor kid. The things we do to our kids just to see how they'll react. We did the same thing to Jackson except it was a pickle. He didn't make any funny reactions like that though.
