More About the Baby Boy

I was really excited today because Pierce fell asleep and I put him in his crib, and he slept there for about 45 minutes. I thought, "maybe I can get some things done today!" That's the first time I had tried putting him in his crib for a nap. I realized that baby monitors are an amazing invention!

As far as night sleeping, the intention was for him to sleep the first few weeks in his pack n play next to our bed. However, when we got home, we were so tired that we wanted him to be even more accessible than that, so we put him in our bed. The night before last, he slept in the pack n play all night, but it was a little more work for me because of his pacifier addiction and his inability to control his own arms. It's crazy how fast they become addicted to that little thing! I can't wait until he can put the thing in his own mouth or suck on his hands. I considered not using a pacifier, but it's really one of those things that you can't live with or without. Either way, you're going to be a little annoyed.

Okay, so back to the co-sleeping. Since I'm a little worried about smashing him, we took the diaper changing pad from his changing table, and put it in our bed. It's all rubbery on the bottom so there's no way it will slide off the bed, and it's slightly raised so there's no way I'll roll over on him. I love having him right next to me. I won't let it last long though.

He's eating well, but I think I'm feeding him too much because I'm still trying to learn when he's actually hungry. I think I'm getting better at reading his body language and cries. He also gets really gassy which I think is due to the frequent eating. I just don't want the poor boy to starve!

We love our baby so much. I wish Brock could stay home from work every day and hang out with us. I'm sure he wishes he could too.

Thank you to everyone who has sent us gifts! I was really good at getting the thank you notes done before Pierce was born, but if you've given me a gift right before he came or after, I haven't done thank you notes yet. I'm going to one of these days though! Soon!

Here's Pierce's first visit to the doctor.

He hates diaper changes but they've gotten so much better. I've learned one lesson...don't change it when he's hungry, he'd rather eat.

This is how Brock likes to test whether or not Pierce is hungry. As you can see, he doesn't like it.
Here's the current sleeping arrangement.

Look at that little cutie! So precious! I can't believe he's already 3 weeks old. Where does the time go? I am glad that your families got to visit and see sweet baby Pierce.
