34 weeks.

I had an unscheduled doctor appointment last Monday. I was having cramps for some reason. Brock kept telling me to just call the doctor and ask about it, but I hate calling them because I don't want to be one of THOSE people that's worried about every little thing. Finally, that afternoon, I decided it wouldn't hurt to call. They asked me to come in and give a urine sample. The doctor ended up doing an exam and a fetal fibronectin test. He said the test would tell him if I would go into labor in the next 3 weeks. If it was positive, he would put me on medication. He didn't think it was very likely though because my cervix is still completely closed. I didn't think it was likely either, and I definitely wasn't surprised when the results were negative. Because they saw crystals in my urine, he thought it was more likely that it was a kidney stone. I thought that sounded more like the case because Friday morning I had a pain in my right side for a few hours. It went away, but came back occassionally throughout the next 2 days. The cramps lasted all day Monday, but I didn't have anything on Tuesday. So, I don't really know what happened because I definitely didn't have the intense pain that I've heard is associated with kidney stones. My theory is that I had a small stone that was broken down in my bladder so I didn't feel anything coming out. I don't really know. The other embarrassing possibility for the cramps was constipation, but that scenario didn't fit as well with what I've been experiencing.

Pierce has been more active this week. I love feeling his little bony body moving around. I really can't wait to see what he looks like. We went to a first aid class Wednesday night at the hospital. I felt like we needed to know how to do CPR on a baby. They taught CPR and choking first aid for adults, children, and infants. So, if you have a heart attack or stop breathing around us, we'll know what to do...at least for the next few weeks before we probably forget everything we learned. Just kidding, I think we'll remember it forever as much as we had to practice it at the class. I took this picture on Friday, but I think baby has started dropping today. I guess we'll see when we compare it to the next picture. My food intake has been out of control lately. I may not have agreed with the doctor last time when he said I've gained too much weight, but I'm embarrassed for my next appointment because I know I'm eating way more than I should. I guess it's good that this has hit me at the end instead of all along the way. We're almost done.
