We had a doctor appointment yesterday. He said that according to the ultrasound we had 5 weeks ago, the baby is due 5 days sooner on March 28th. They won't officially change the due date unless there's at least a 12-day difference, so they're still going by April 2nd. It doesn't really surprise me that he's due sooner; I've been saying that all along. Here's the surprise though. My uterus measured 29 cm yesterday. The number of cm is supposed to roughly correspond with the number of weeks you are. The doctor seemed to think I may be having a big baby. He said we would aim for 8 lbs (which is what I was when I was born). He also said I can help control it by not eating a lot of sweets and exercising regularly (both things that I have been struggling with lately because of the holiday season and cold weather). I'm definitely going to work on that. He said I haven't really gained too much weight though. I'm really not too concerned right now about the baby being big. I think it's too early to worry about anything. I do think he'll be born in March, not April. I also know that belly measurements aren't an exact or very reliable method of determining growth. The ultrasound is the best way, and the baby looked fine in the ultrasound. Plus, I measured myself at home and came up with 26-27 cm, not 29. I'm definitely anxious to see how it all turns out.
