I can hardly keep up with everyone's blogging lately. For a while there, I thought it was going out of style because I never had anything new to read, but now I can't even keep up! It's great though. Keep it coming! :)
Warning: This post has to do with getting sick. I tried to make it as vague as possible, but if you don't like hearing about people getting sick, don't say you weren't warned.
I had a strange week. Apparently I have this bad habit of filling up glasses with water and then never really drinking any of it. All along I thought I was drinking plenty of fluids, but not much of it was actually making it into my body. So Wednesday I was out all day running errands and shopping. I stopped and ate lunch at Sonic while I was out. I had to teach my piano lesson at 4, so I got groceries as fast as I could and made it home around 3:45. I was feeling kind of ill by then so I tried to find a snack to eat before I had to teach my lesson. When 4 came, I was lying on the couch feeling really bad. I thought I could stand to make it through the 30 minute lesson, but as soon as my student got there and started playing, I felt terrible, so I told him I had to go to the bathroom. I didn't really know what I was feeling when I was in the bathroom but nothing was happening in any form. I just wanted to curl up on the floor, but I knew I had to go back out there and take him out to his mom who was waiting in the car. So I went back out and told him that he was going to have to come back another time. He didn't want to leave without getting his weekly "prize" for practicing, so I told him to hurry and pick something. He took forever, and I was waiting for him by the door telling him that I needed him to hurry because I was really sick. It finally hit me there and without giving a lot of details, all the nausea that I haven't had much of so far in my pregnancy finally caught up to me as I ran back to the bathroom. After that, I came back out to take the poor traumatized kid to his mom. I was so embarrassed, but of course she was very understanding. I thought I was better after that, but I got sick again and spent the next hour or so in emergency bathroom usage. Anyway, needless to say I must have eaten something bad at Sonic.
So the reason that I mentioned the not drinking enough water thing is because after my little spell Wednesday afternoon, I unknowingly became very dehydrated. I didn't realize how bad it was until Thursday morning. I woke up at 5 am, and I thought my head was going to explode. Our bedroom was dry and cold because we had the window open and fans blowing, so I got some water and went to our guest bedroom and watched tv because I couldn't sleep with my headache. When Brock got up for work, I went downstairs to get something to eat and some tylenol, and I smelled the worst smell of leftovers coming from our refrigerator. I had to run upstairs to the bathroom because it made me sick again. I understand that this is normal for a lot of pregnant people, but for me to go my whole first trimester without getting sick and then to suddenly be sick 2 days in a row at 14 weeks, I didn't know what was going on with me. To make a long story short, I had that headache all day Thursday and woke up again Friday morning feeling terrible. I called the nurse at my doctor's office and she said to take tylenol, drink gatorade, and rest. So I drank 5 bottles of gatorade yesterday, and by the end of the day, I felt great. I even had so much faith in the gatorade advice, that I drove to Lexington that morning to visit Aubrey and Celeste with my terrible headache and hoped that it would be better by the time I got there, and it pretty much was. So basically, I'm saying drink gatorade, it's really good for you. :) I'm just kidding. I know it's not that great for you, but it was really good for one day of replenishment. I just need to drink more water.

sonic creeps me out.. no wonder you got sick.. the only thing I'll eat from there is soda. ALSO.. I'm sorry you got sick... that really sucks. :( I'm getting sick just thinking about being knocked up and smelling nasty food smells.. it's the WORST... ew... sorry...
awww... that sucks!! Trust me, I know. That's really ironic about sonic.... you'll have to ask Eric about the sonic episode at our house... needless to say I didn't eat sonic for awhile... actually I ate some today for the first time since and it sat well, so just give it time... I hope you start feeling better!!
Hey, that sounds terrible!! Maybe it was Sonic, but I know, for me, I went through my first trimester with hardly any symptoms. It was so weird. I even went to the doctor to make sure the baby was still alive! But as soon as I got into the 2nd trimester, I started feeling more sick and tired. It was really weird. It didn't last long, but for the like a week, I was pretty under the weather. I guess it sometimes just builds up and hits you at the very end of it.
oh bless your dear heart
