What to say....

Hmmm.... I haven't taken many pictures lately. I don't like being the person that's like "Okay, everybody look at me and smile!!" Although when I don't ask people to look at me and smile, I always catch them making a random weird face that I know would embarrass them if I showed it to anyone.

I guess the funnest thing that has happened in the last week is that our good friends Dustin and Meredith had their baby boy Tanner! He's so cute. See him here.

Brock and I learned something over the weekend. A few months ago we bought a plain white down comforter for our guest bedroom. We wanted to get a bed skirt for it too, but we weren't sure if those were sold separately. So we were looking at Linens and Things the other day, and we saw something called a duvet set or comforter cover set. We were trying to figure out what a duvet was, but we didn't know, so Brock called his mom to ask her. The first thing we found out is that we were pronouncing it wrong. We said "duvette" but apparently the t is silent, so it's pronounced "duvay". (How were we supposed to know? We're Spanish speakers.) Good thing we didn't ask anyone in the store what it was. We also didn't know that they made covers for comforters. We were excited about our discovery. So now we have pillow shams, a bed skirt, and a duvet for our guest bed. I also learned that the comforter itself is sometimes referred to as a duvet, so there is some confusion (according to Wikipedia) about what a duvet actually is.

Also, for all of our visitors who are bedtime tv-watchers, there will be no more need for laptops or suffering in silence. The guest room has a tv with cable now. Sorry about the pictures being turned, but I'm sure you get the idea.

In other news, I'm no longer looking for a job. I have one piano student that I will be teaching this fall, and I hope to gradually accumulate others. That will be my only job for now. I have also somehow become the ward (and neighborhood) babysitter. I'm not sure how that happened as I've never been too big on babysitting. I'm okay with it though as long as I'm paid and I don't have to work nights or weekends.

Brock is still enjoying his job. He seems to be getting, or assuming, more responsibility. He gets to have occassional lunches with friends who also work downtown, and sometimes I pick him up for lunch. He likes having me at home all day as his personal assistant. We keep an online to do list now for all of the things that I need to get done. Believe it or not, this blog post is on my list. The list was my idea because I'll forget everything if I don't have a list. I thought an online list would be good so he could log into it and add to it instead of calling me all day as he thinks of things.

Sounds like life is a cherry. I really like your bedroom. It is tough decorating, I think. Tyler and I do it together. We wait to paint, hand pictures, or display decor until we both agree and are certain that it is what we want. AKA-we have bare walls!!! Good online list idea.

I teach piano, too. I only have 4 students. I like getting on to the kids when they don't practice. I used to think my teachers could never tell, but it's pretty abvious.
