Camp

I got to go to girls camp last week, Wednesday through Friday. I'm sad that I don't have any pictures, but I definitely wasn't in a very photogenic state, and I'm guessing anyone else I may have taken a picture of would probably not want it to be on my blog for all to see. There's one thing I wish I could have captured with my camera. It had been storming all day Tuesday and Wednesday. We got there Wednesday, and that night, another bad storm came through. I was in the pavillion, which had 3 open walls, when the storm came through. It was really scary being outside when all of the strong winds and rain and lightning were coming through. I thought there was a tornado because I could see everything flying by me. I really wish I had my camera to capture that part on video. I've never experienced anything like that before. It was also scary being responsible for kids and not really knowing where any of them were and not being able to go find them. A lot of people were really scared by it, and there was chaos for a while because they were trying to decide what to do with everyone since we were all in different places, but it passed quickly, and everyone was safe. The power got knocked out, so we were in the dark that night, and it didn't come on until about 24 hours later. We didn't have lights or hot water. I know that it doesn't seem that bad because it made it more like real camping, but when you expect to have electricity and you don't, it's annoying. I had a fun time though. I was over a group of 2nd year girls (13 year olds). We went on a 5-mile hike. Everyone goes 3 miles, but 2nd years get to do 2 extra miles. Everyone left Saturday morning, but I came home Friday night because Brock's family was flying in. It was fun experience. I wouldn't mind going again. The only thing that was kind of annoying, but not really, is that everyone thought I was a youth leader. I kind of expected it before I even went, but the whole time I was there I had to tell people that I was an adult. I'm sure there's still some people that were there that think I'm a teenager. Do I really look that young?

Yes, you look like a teenager. Everyone under the age of 40 looks like a kid to me. Trust me. As you age, you will be glad you look younger. I'm catching up with myself now, though. js

Sounds fun! Our girls are going next week but I'm not going. When I went last year I felt like one of the girls and not a leader!

Britney, how far do you live from Fort Thomas, Kentucky? Are they in your stake? That is where my father-in-law and his wife live.
