Last Saturday we got to work in our yard for the first time. We weeded and pruned our plant beds. The only weeds we had were wild onions which were difficult to dig up and really stinky. I'm pretty sure we're going to have to do some more weeding because I didn't get some of the roots out. I was afraid I was doing it wrong, so I asked Brock if he was getting the roots, and he said that he got about 30% of them. :) Brock got to mow the lawn with our new lawn mower that we bought from Costco. He said the backyard was a pain because of the slope. He's not looking forward to doing that regularly for the next few months. We also sprinkled some weed preventer and fertilizer stuff. We still have a sorry excuse for a yard, but at least we're making some progress. I didn't even take any pictures of the plant beds because they don't look that great. Right now there are clumps of mud mixed in the mulch. Maybe I'll take a picture when we get some more mulch and our plants start blooming. It was kind of fun to work together on our own yard. We both decided that we were more interested in working in our own yard than we were in our parents' yards growing up. I hated my chores of weeding and picking up sticks. I don't love it now, but it brings more satisfaction.

Working in the Yard
I love that so many people read our blog. It's funny that some of the people that I haven't talked to in a while read our blog and know about everything we do. Some of them don't have blogs of their own, so I have no idea what they're up to, but they feel like they've been talking to me all along. Believe it or not, Brock loves it when I write a new blog post. He checks it regularly, and if I haven't blogged for a while, he gets sad and asks me when I'm going to surprise him with a new post. I just thought I'd share that.

YAH! NO More Sticks!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sincerly,
Dallin Myers
P.S. I have done it twice
we're on the same page.
Dallin is the little 6 year old neighbor. He likes to come over to visit. I've been getting him to help me to pick up sticks in the yard. From the comment, I guess he doesn't enjoy it. Mom
ok so last night I had a dream that the Roarks (carmen and j-dub) had a house in arkansas and we ALL (like I'm talking the whole branberry/carriage cove crew) met there for a "friends reunion and they my mom called and said she was in Dallas and wanted to meet me there and you said you'd go with me and then Carmen said we could stay at her house THERE...( I guess the Roarks are real estate tycoons) and then when we got to her Dallas house it was all pink with yellow bunnies everywhere... WHAT THE CRAP??? I should quit my crack habit before bed, huh?
Hello Britney! Sorry but I read your blog too. :) I really enjoy reading it. It's under my favorites, believe it or not, along with my other blogging friends. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your house, especially your office. Sorry I haven't left any comments. But I'll get better. Feel free to check mine out anytime. www.adamandbrandi.blogspot.com
Those chores paid off. Now you know how to weed and pick up sticks. Why don't you blog about American Idol, and Dancing With the Stars?? I really enjoy your blog. Jeannie
